Beautiful set of two decorative faiences from Desvres made by Massé Frères, comprising a large lidded urn and a matching vase. The two pieces feature a rich hand-painted polychrome decoration, notably including dragons/fantastic creatures, arabesques, vegetal motifs and geometric friezes, in a particularly decorative palette. Dimensions : Lidded urn: about 32 cm high Vase: about 27 cm high The two pieces bear under their base a handwritten signature “Massé Frères”. The set is particularly interesting for its large dimensions, its very rich decoration and the coherence of the two pieces, which are presented together. Period: second half of the 20th century, Massé Frères period. Origin: Desvres, France. Condition: very good overall. No chips apparent on visual inspection. Given the age of the pieces, slight signs of wear may be present.
