Somehow, Gon managed to survive the extinction of the dinosaurs, and he is shown interacting with Paleolithic animals. Gon became famous outside of Japan for his appearance in the Tekken 3 fighting game. The comic received an animated adaptation, broadcast in Japan, and premiered on April 2, 2012.
