Toutes les enchères / Luminaire / Marlen - Petra - Edizione limitata di 77 esemplari in Resina italiana
The origin of the idea of the Seven Wonders dates back to Herodotus (484-425 B.C.) and Callimachus (305-240 B.C.), who drew up a list that included the Pyramids of Giza, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the statue of Zeus at Olympia, the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, the Colossus of Rhodes, and the Lighthouse of Alexandria. Only the Pyramids of Giza remain standing, while the other 6 were destroyed by earthquakes, fires, or other causes. The “New Seven Wonders of the World” is a project organized by the private foundation New7Wonders to recreate a “Global Memory,” that is, seven things that people around the world can remember and share. For each of these places, Marlen has created an extremely limited-edition pen and a complete set of all the Seven Wonders (limited edition of 38 pieces – fountain pens, and 28 pieces – roller pens). This collection is a tribute to the archaeological site of Jordan – Petra, made with precious materials such as resin and cellulose acetate. The design is distinguished by a wide silver band on the barrel, depicting a captivating view of "Al Deir." Moreover, on the silver ring of the cap, the seven new wonders of the world are inscribed, making each piece a true tribute to art and history.
