The origins of the idea of the Seven Wonders date back to Herodotus (484-425 B.C.) and Callimachus (305-240 B.C.), who made a list that included the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the statue of Zeus at Olympia, the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, the Colossus of Rhodes, and the Lighthouse of Alexandria. Only the Great Pyramid of Giza remains standing, while the other six have been destroyed by earthquakes, fires, or other causes. The “New Seven Wonders of the World” is a project organized by the private foundation New7Wonders, to recreate a “Global Memory,” that is, seven things that everyone in the world can remember and share. For each of these places, Marlen has created a pen in a very limited edition and a complete set of all the Seven Wonders (limited edition of 38 pieces - fountain pens, and 28 pieces - rollerball pens). This collection is a homage to the Colosseum in Rome, crafted with precious materials such as resin and celluloid. The design features a wide silver band on the barrel, depicting a striking view of the Colosseum. Additionally, the silver ring on the cap carries the seven new wonders of the world, making each piece a true tribute to art and history.
