Introducing the Marlen 1600° Venezia Collection In 2021, the 1600th anniversary of the founding of the city of Venice is commemorated, when at Rivus Altus (Rialto) began the construction of a church, the current San Giacometto. Marlen celebrates the anniversary with this special limited edition, dedicated to the event. A tribute to 1600 years of history of a city where all citizens of the world are welcome, a city open to encounter and cultural exchange in which people, cultures and faiths even deeply different from each other have met and shared common paths while respecting their own identities, underscoring the role of the city as a bridge between different cultures, unique for its cultural and landscape heritage. The cap top is in silver, with the official logo engraved for Venice’s 1600th anniversary, while the texture echoes that of Palazzo Ducale in Piazza San Marco. A series of rings in silver and Italian resin in various colors separate two bands in wood. The cap closes with a ring in silver engraved 1600° Venezia. The clip in 925 silver (or vermeil) was designed and made like the profile of a gondola. The large silver band depicting in relief a part of the façade of Palazzo Ducale in Piazza San Marco characterizes the body of the pen. The knob is in Italian red resin, mother-of-pearl effect, in which a silver coin with a relief of the winged lion, symbol of Venice, is set. The silver-plated brass threading that allows easy securing of the cap is connected to a series of rings in Italian resin of various colors. A silver ring bearing “anno domini cdxxi - mmxxi,” enclosed between two wooden rings and the silver tip, complete the shaft.
