[ABC] WARRIOR OF HAUPT, Marie FIRST READINGS. [Paris], Raphael Tuck & Fils, [1901]. 1 vol. 8vo. 48 pp. Half-cloth binding in aubergine, publisher's glossy color-illustrated boards. A reading primer composed of alphabets, syllabaries, and short texts, illustrated in black by various artists (M. Bowley, Mabel F. Taylor, Edith Taylor...) and featuring two large color lithographs mounted, unidentified. The cover illustration is signed by the American artist Frances Brundage (1854–1937), who did extensive work with the London publisher Raphael Tuck. This publisher established itself in France in 1882 and after the death of Raphael Tuck in 1900, his sons succeeded him. From the collection "Librairie artistique de la jeunesse".
