Margit Kovács – Decorated female figurine, Hungarian ceramic. An intriguing dateable figurine roughly from the 1930s–1940s in brown ceramic attributed to Margit Kovács (1902–1977), one of the most important Hungarian ceramicists and sculptors of the 20th century. The figure, of stylized form, features a rich relief decoration with geometric and ornamental motifs, characteristic of Kovács's production and her interest in Hungarian folk art. Made in ceramic and decorated, patinated terracotta. The surface preserves the original brown patina, with natural signs of age and workmanship.
