Las 1000 Caras — Three Gazes #161, #162 and #163 Original triptych | Acrylic on canvas | 2026 Description of the work In this triptych I present three female portraits that explore identity, expression, and beauty through a geometric and minimalist language. Each figure has its own personality, but the three are connected by a single aesthetic. Fragmented faces, defined black lines, and simplified shapes create a balanced composition where every element has its place. The color palette combines intense red, deep black, warm white, and delicate pink tones, accompanied by small blue accents that bring freshness and contrast. The looks are one of the protagonist elements. One figure gazes with serenity, another maintains a frontal and enigmatic expression, while the third closes one eye, introducing a gesture of complicity and mystery. I am especially interested in that capacity of the human face to convey emotions through very simple elements. In these paintings I seek to eliminate what is unnecessary and let color, form, and gaze build their own story. Although each painting works individually, the three together form a composition with strong visual presence, contemporary and harmonious. Style and technique The work unfolds within a contemporary neocubist language, with influences from geometric art and the hard-edge style. I use acrylic on canvas, working with surfaces of uniform color, precise outlines, and a composition of curved and straight forms that complement each other. Art series: Las 1000 Caras This triptych belongs to my artistic project Las 1000 Caras, a personal series consisting of 1000 original portraits, each numbered individually. Through this project I explore the infinite possibilities of representing the human face, using fragmentation, geometry, color, and simplification of forms. Each face represents a different identity, an emotion, or an imagined story. My intention is to find new ways of interpreting the human figure while maintaining a recognizable visual language that is continually evolving.
