Toutes les enchères / Mobilier, Design & Miroirs / Manufacture Royale d'Aubusson - Tapestry - 243 cm - 199...
Pause, reader, and pay homage to the apotheosis of frivolity and refinement: behold this majestic Aubusson tapestry. With an ease bordering on insolence, the needle renders the very mechanics of seduction, suspending for eternity the airborne sweep of taffeta and a shoe cast to the wind—an open defiance of decorum. At the center of this theater of desire, the young woman sways lustfully in a movement charged with intent: she leaves behind the shadow of the elderly magnate pushing her from the darkness—a symbol of decadent power and withered possession—to launch herself toward the passionate young man. Hidden in the thicket and radiant with physical vigor, he gazes joyfully upon the revelation of the promised flesh. To welcome this work into your home is to create a sanctuary dedicated to coquetry, gallant artifice, and the undeniable triumph of vitality over decrepitude. The Aubusson workshops, masters of superb technical skill, transformed the lush eighteenth-century garden into a stage set of complicity, where light plays amidst deep greens and delicate lace to perpetuate that precise moment when virtue succumbs to temptation. Grant yourself the grandeur of owning this Rococo archetype: a testament to an era that understood, with clairvoyance and supreme elegance, that the only lofty purpose of existence lies in the mastery of pleasure and an unconditional surrender to youth. - Provenance: Château estate sale in Landes. - Measurements: 243 x 199 cm - Colours look wonderful. Some accidents, but overall good condition. - The artwork will be shipped and packed professionally, and delivered to you in no time.
