Magnificent Cavalier Sao - are - Nigeria (No reserve price)

The Sao are not strictly speaking an ethnicity. It is a civilization, now disappeared, that occupied a geographic area extending between Cameroon, Chad, and Nigeria between the 12th and 14th centuries. This very beautiful little bronze is, of course, inspired by the beautiful Sao creations. The horse is superb, the two warriors have their heads wrapped in a cheche, just like the Tuareg today. The portrayal of the horse is exceptionally refined.
