The nine volumes are all dated 1782 and form here a remarkable, uniform sequence. Old morocco bindings, spine adorned with gold-tooled fillets with dark blue title pieces, titles and volume numbers gilded. Boards covered with marbled paper. An especially harmonious and decorative set for a library. Approximately 3,300 pages in total, divided into different parts with separate pagination. Condition: interiors generally very fresh for works of nearly 250 years old. Bindings solid, showing the normal signs of time: rubbing, wear to the boards and corners, small losses and occasional blemishes, notably at the heads. The title pieces and the gilding on the spines are still well present. Very beautiful overall patina. A historical and decorative set devoted to the great figures of French history, preserved in rare uniformity across the nine volumes. The photographs are an integral part of the description.
