A name with a history in high-end watchmaking This piece bears the name Louis Cottier (1890-1966), the Geneva watchmaker who invented the World Time system in 1931. It was such a revolutionary mechanism that Patek Philippe quickly commissioned it, and at that time Patek used a design by Louis Cottier, an independent watchmaker.  The history of the Patek Philippe World Time goes back to the 1930s to this esteemed inventor named Louis Cottier. The current Louis Cottier brand pays homage to that legacy.  This particular watch: It is not a vintage Patek Philippe; it is a contemporary creation of the Louis Cottier brand inspired by that tradition: an automatic skeleton Quadra.
