Limestone with orbitolinids - Aptian - Aliaga (Teruel)...

Exceptional fossiliferous limestone piece with an extraordinary concentration of orbitolinids, originating from the Villarroya Formation of los Pinares (Aptian), in the geological setting of Aliaga (Teruel, Spain). The specimen stands out for the huge number of fossils visible on the surface, many of them preserved in cross-section, forming a very characteristic bioclastic concentration. Specimens of different sizes and orientations are observed, with numerous individuals partially superimposed and fragmented within the calcareous matrix.
