An important monograph by Ronald Lightbown devoted to Piero della Francesca, one of the great masters of the Italian Renaissance. A detailed study of his paintings: frescoes, altarpieces, portraits, and large decorative cycles, notably the Altarpiece of Mercy and the famous frescoes in Arezzo. Extensive color illustrations, including numerous full-page and double-page reproductions as well as details that allow for the study of the artist’s technique and the state of preservation of the works.
