THE FRENCH GLASS / SCHNEIDER Double Art Deco lamp – Wrought iron with a grapevine motif & marbleized glass – France, c.1925 Elegant and substantial French Art Deco double lamp, circa 1925, combining a sculptural wrought-iron mount with two polychrome marbleized glass shades signed Le Verre Français / Schneider. The ironwork features a remarkable botanical grapevine motif, with veined leaves, curling tendrils and sculpted grape clusters. The decorative strength of this piece lies in the harmony between the ironwork and the colors of the glass. Golden-yellow and amber tones, punctuated by reddish-brown accents, gradually transition to green and blue-green hues at the tips, naturally echoing the vine leaves and grapes. The undulating, pointed edges of the glass evoke stylised petals or foliage and visually extend the organic movement of the mount. When lit, the lamp reveals all the warmth and depth of the marbleized glass; when off, it maintains a strong sculptural presence. Signature: the two shades are signed Le Verre Français / Schneider.
