Die Chaiselongue besteht aus zwei Teilen mit einem lackierten Untergestell aus Metall, einem stufenlos verstellbaren und verchromtem Rahmen mit zwischengespannten Gurten und einer Liegefläche aus Lederbezug. Signatur und Seriennummer "Le Corbusier LC 4 / 732" Lederbezug ergänzt. Der Designklassiker, entworfen 1928 und 1929 im Salon d'Automne in Paris ausgestellt, ist das bekannteste Möbeldesign des schweizerisch-französischen Architekten und Designers Le Corbusier (Pierre Jeanneret und Charlotte Perriand), frühe Ausführungen befinden sich heute u.a. im Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Le Corbusier nannte die Lounge "ruhende Maschine". Bemerkenswert ist, dass die Ruheposition ohne Mechanik eingestellt werden kann. Die Schwerkraft hält die LC4 Chaiselongue mühelos in Position. The chaise longue consists of two parts: a lacquered metal base, a continuously adjustable chrome-plated frame with straps stretched between the supports, and a leather-upholstered seating surface. Signed and serial number “Le Corbusier LC 4 / 732”; leather upholstery restored. This design classic, created in 1928 and exhibited at the Salon d’Automne in Paris in 1929, is the best-known furniture design by the Swiss-French architect and designer Le Corbusier (Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand); early versions are now housed, among other places, at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Le Corbusier called the lounge a “resting machine.” It is remarkable that the reclining position can be adjusted without any mechanical parts; gravity effortlessly holds the LC4 chaise longue in place.
