Toutes les enchères / Ethnographie / Lady Amherst's Pheasant and Golden Pheasant Taxidermy...

Take a good look at the entire set of photos. The Lady Amherst's Pheasant (Chrysolophus amherstiae) is a species of galliform birds in the Phasianidae family. The species is named after the countess and naturalist Sarah Amherst, wife of William Pitt Amherst, Governor-General of India, who was responsible for sending the first specimen to London in 1828. It is also known as Amherst's Pheasant. It originates from southwest China and Burma, but has been introduced in other countries. There is, in particular, a small population in England, in Bedfordshire. For its part, the Golden Pheasant (Chrysolophus pictus) is also a species of birds in the Phasianidae family, in the order Galliformes. It is native to China and has been introduced to Great Britain, but its natural habits in the wild remain quite poorly known. The male sports a very colorful plumage, which has made it a common bird in aviaries and zoos. What we offer here is a true firework of color, notably the plumage colors of the two birds .. Superb !!! These two birds are presented in flight, wings fully spread, above a specially designed stand, to be placed in explosive colors (or hung). Taxidermy of both birds was completed in late 2025, so they are in mint condition. The two birds can be removed from the stand (as will be the case for shipping), with extreme ease and can be reassembled just as easily. This is, of course, an exceptional lot, a Unique lot that you will neither see nor find anywhere else, except here, for You and only here, on Catawiki. (All our packages are secured using materials specifically adapted for this purpose, and sent no later than the day after your payment, via Colissimo, with a tracking number provided.)
