[LA CURNE DE SAINT-PALAYE]. A Literary History of the Troubadours, containing their lives, excerpts from their works, and various details on the customs, practices, and history of the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. Paris: Durand, nephew, 1774. 3 volumes in-12, marbled sheepskin, decorated spine, red title and volume number labels, marbled edges (contemporary binding). First edition of this work, undoubtedly the first to be entirely devoted to the troubadours. Library stamp in red ink on the title pages and covers (redacted). Ex-libris of the physician Louis de Santi, engraved by Henriot. Minor scuffing on the binding; a piece is missing from the lower cap of Volume I.
