Provenance: Sale, Christie's, London, 22 September 1994, lot 134 Acquired from the above by the present owner Park has captured the bustle of the River Thames at the junction of Blackfriars Bridge and the Embankment and looking along the river towards Old Waterloo Bridge. On the far bank are the industrial docks of the south bank with their chimneys and in the distance is the Palace of Westminster. Christopher Richard Wynne Nevinson painted a similar view about a decade before the present painting (now in the Courtauld Gallery, London). Condition Report: The work has been relined. There is some slight small scattered retouching in the upper left corner of the sky.
