Vintage 1998 Kiton Double-Breasted 100% Cashmere Blazer – Made in Italy Exceptional late-1990s Kiton double-breasted blazer, made in Italy from 100% cashmere and originally retailed through Patrick Hellmann. The original internal label is dated 28.10.1998. Kiton was founded in Naples in 1968 and is regarded as one of the leading houses of high-end Neapolitan tailoring, known for extensive handwork, soft construction and exceptional fabrics. This is a particularly attractive older example, with the relaxed proportions and broad peak lapels associated with late-20th-century Italian tailoring. The cloth is a beautifully understated taupe / beige-grey pure cashmere, with a soft hand, subtle texture and excellent drape. Six-button double-breasted front with broad peak lapels, flap pockets, breast pocket, double rear vents, mottled buttons and full Kiton-logo lining. A lovely surviving detail is that the small original retaining threads securing the lapels are still present. Tagged size 51 with Drop 8C noted on the original label. The jacket fits relatively trim; please rely on the measurements below. Measurements, laid flat: Pit to pit: 52 cm / 20.5” Waist: 56 cm / 22.0” Shoulders: 46 cm / 18.1” Length from base of collar: 77 cm / 30.3” Sleeve from shoulder seam: 57 cm / 22.4” Inner sleeve: 38 cm / 15.0” Condition: Very good vintage condition. There is one very small hole, approximately 1 mm, on the upper right back, shown clearly in the close-up photograph. Otherwise the cashmere and overall jacket are very well preserved for a piece dating from 1998. A beautiful and increasingly uncommon example of 1990s Kiton in pure cashmere, combining classic Neapolitan tailoring with a distinctly relaxed late-20th-century silhouette.
