“GELATO – SPLASH! VELVET VIOLA” (large edition) is a wall sculpture by Italian artist KIRAS, which turns a pop gesture into a surprising and refined design object. The ice cream seems to have crashed against the wall, but what really strikes is its velvety surface, soft to look at and capable of catching light in a unique way. The work is made in bioplastic using 3D technology, a plant-based material chosen for its sustainability and for the possibility of obtaining precise and light forms. After printing, each piece is fully finished by hand through a long process of filling, sanding, and polishing. The surface is then coated with a purple VELVET-effect flocking, which gives depth of color, delicately absorbs light, and creates an elegant contrast with the bioplastic cone and real wood, also handcrafted. The velvet effect is what makes this version particularly spectacular: the matte, soft texture creates a play of shadows and reflections that changes with the lighting, turning the work into a refined focal point that is at the same time ironic. It’s pop, but with an unexpected touch of elegance. Wall mounting is via rear holes. The dimensions are approximately 43 × 29 × 26 cm. KIRAS’s philosophy is based on the use of simple, environmentally friendly materials, without sacrificing a strong aesthetic impact. Each sculpture is personally made by the artist, who oversees all stages of production. For this reason the editions are always extremely limited: this edition comprises 50 pieces, making each work rare and highly collectible. The work is signed and numbered, accompanied by an authenticity certificate and a KIRAS-branded box. Being handcrafted, any minor irregularities are part of the natural manual process. The work is intended for indoor environments; it is advisable to avoid heat sources and to clean only with a soft cloth or a delicate brush to maintain the velvet effect. KIRAS exhibits in Italian and international galleries and regularly participates in contemporary art fairs such as ART3F, ArtePadova, ArtParma Fair, and other sector events. Ideal placement: “GELATO – SPLASH! VELVET VIOLA” is perfect for modern and bright spaces, where the velvety texture can interact with natural light or with targeted illumination.
