Kesta (Jean-Louis Dhuit) — L’Intrigante, 2015 Hommage à Mucha — technique mixte — 100 × 70 cm Description Kesta (Jean-Louis Dhuit, born in 1936) L’Intrigante, 2015 Oil, crayon and mixed media on painting board 100 × 70 cm A young woman of fluid grace, seated among vines and ivy, a clutch in hand, a white flower in the hair. The light veils glide along the body, the turquoise and yellow background vibrates like a summer sky. The border with arabesques frames the composition with the elegance typical of Art Nouveau. The work breathes the spirit of Alphonse Mucha: sinuous line, refined dress, vegetal decor, contemplative femininity. It is a decorative piece of large format, immediately legible and very photogenic. The artist Trained at the École Boulle and then at the Arts Décoratifs, Jean-Louis Dhuit, known as Kesta, masters ornament, drapery and drawing. Based in Ambert, he has developed a figurative and decorative body of work. L’Intrigante belongs to his 2015 Mucha-inspired vein, one of the most captivating in his studio. Inscriptions • Recto: signed KESTA 15 at the bottom right and monogram JD 2015 at the bottom left. • Verso: title, technique, dimensions, date and autograph signature of the artist (J.L. Dhuit nicknamed “KESTA”, Ambert). Frame Display mounting made by the artist (black plastic moldings). Simple, intended only to present the work. The buyer can easily replace it with a more noble framing. Condition Studio piece, not restored. Small signs of use and surface irregularities normal for a piece straight from the artist’s studio. Sold as is.
