Kay Bojesen - Toy figurine Soldats de la garde - 1950-1960 - Denmark

Exceptional and rare homogeneous set of 9 lacquered wooden articulated figurines representing the famous Danish Royal Guard (Den Kongelige Livgarde), an absolute icon of Scandinavian design originally created in 1942 by the Danish master craftsman and designer Kay Bojesen. This vintage troupe stands out for its substantial size and ideal composition, allowing for a true complete miniature parade to be recreated. It consists of: • 2 Drummers: Equipped with their original drums featuring crossed geometric motifs. • 1 Standard-bearer: Firmly holding the national fabric flag (Dannebrog). • 6 Infantrymen (Guard with rifles): Each carrying their original wooden weapon on the shoulder. Good original vintage condition. The lacquered paint (royal blue, bright red and black) retains a superb shine despite small signs of wear normal for age, which gives the lot a superb authentic patina. The joints are firm and functional, allowing each soldier to stand perfectly upright. All accessories (flag, rifles, drums) are original and included. A prestigious lot, ready to join a discerning collection or to elevate a Mid-Century Modern interior, careful and prompt shipping with tracking number.'} | ```json``` has been formatted as requested without extra text.```
