Presented unframed Condition of the painting: good With the work, a certificate of authenticity is attached Jordi Curós Ventura (Olot, Girona, 1930 - Barcelona, 2017) Painter and printmaker. Born in Olot in 1930, after an initial artistic training at the School of Arts in his hometown, he worked in the religious sculpture workshops of Olot, El Arte Cristiano. In the early fifties, a restless group of artists from Girona formed the Indika collective, one of the country’s first avant-garde groups. In 1954 he obtained a scholarship from the Institut Français de Barcelona to study in Paris. Upon his return he settled permanently in Barcelona. In 1958, the Barcelona City Council granted him another scholarship to further his studies in Paris. This is the period of informality, which he abandoned in the mid-sixties, coinciding with his entry into the Parés gallery in Barcelona, giving way to a more figurative painting, a direction in which he remained thereafter.
