Joost van den Vondel - a miscellany of 9 tragedies - bound in blind-stamped calfskin panel binding (Cambridge style), the front cover decorated with a frame with fleurons in the corners and a darker inlaid leather central panel. The spine features five raised bands and gold-stamped compartments with a red leather title panel. Fair/moderate condition, as the front board and the first flyleaf are loose, quite some loss of leather at the foot of the spine, a crack a few mm from the top of the spine and a small hole at the top of the spine, wear and knocks on the corners and edges. Inner hinge at the back slightly open. Interior pages discolored, some spots. Inner margins open in four places. The block with pages 1 through 56 of Palamedes 1707 threatens to come loose. Corner of three leaves missing.
