The Grande Champagne Jean Fillioux Lot 63 cognac from Through the Grapevine is a liquid chronicle of history and tradition. Hailing from Juillac-le-Coq, in the heart of the Grande Champagne region, this 44 per cent ABV cognac, presented in a 0.7-litre bottle, bears witness to the Fillioux family’s heritage dating back to 1894. Crafted primarily from Colombard and Ugni Blanc grapes and aged in coarse-grained Limousin oak casks, this cognac embodies the family’s motto: “Take the high ground to see far” Distilled in 1963 and aged in a temperature-controlled cellar, it was slowly diluted before being bottled in September 2022, giving it a complex, fruity profile with floral notes.
