The composition centers around a large black structure, almost architectural, that frames a central silhouette in ochre and brown tones. This profile evokes an opening, a passage, or an interior space, without tying to a precise figurative representation. The palette, composed of deep black, off-white, and earthy tones, creates a subtle balance between contrast and harmony. The black asserts the structure and gives the whole a strong visual presence, while the warm hues offer a sense of depth and material. The lighter areas, more open, lighten the composition and highlight the central form. The traces, overlaps, and irregularities visible on the surface attest to gestural and instinctive work. The fine lines, marks, and texture variations preserve the memory of the creative process and give the painting a dimension that is both raw and sensitive. In this work, the form seems to delimit a space between the exterior and the interior, between what is visible and what remains mysterious. The gaze is drawn toward the center, then invited to move along the contours and contrasts, gradually discovering the different nuances of the composition. Through this painting, I continue my exploration of contemporary abstraction, examining the tension between geometric construction, material, and spontaneous expression. The work intentionally leaves room for personal interpretation and invites each viewer to project their own perceptions and emotions. Original and unique work, signed by the artist. The painting will be shipped rolled in a tube, without the frame. About the artist: Born in 1966, Jane Grieco is a Brazilian artist living in Brittany.
