Great banner of Sabaudia from the Kingdom of Italy - Probable institutional/ceremonial use. Early twentieth century. Large tricolour banner of exceptional size, about 200 x 205 cm, made by assembling three fabric panels sewn together. On the white field, the emblem of Sabaudia is applied and sewn separately. The particular artisan construction, the remarkable dimensions, and the presence of the applied emblem are characteristics of an artifact destined for important display and ceremonial use. The typology is documented also for flags used by public bodies and local administrations during the monarchic period. The flag does not show tears, only small holes; see photo. It should be noted that it has arrived to us with its hundred years.
