Industrial design Toilet set (2) - Smalterie...

Vintage Tin Toilet Set in Enamelled Sheet Metal - Jug and Basin - Smalterie di Bassano (1940s/1960s) Splendid and authentic antique toilet set consisting of a tall-spouted jug and the coordinated basin. Made from solid bent iron sheet metal and coated with glossy white porcelain enamel, finished with an elegant dark blue contrasting profile on the edge. On the bottom of the basin is the historic and sought-after original ink-stamp of the Smalterie Metallurgiche Venete of Bassano del Grappa (founded by the Westen family), characterized by the unmistakable heraldic emblem with two rampant lions. A perfect decorative accessory for lovers of rustic modernism, the shabby chic style, or mid-20th-century Italian industrial collecting. Also ideal to reinterpret as a decorative display element or as a flower vase. • Basin: Height 9 cm | Diameter 31 cm, brand with two horses (Italian enamelware) The set is in overall good structural condition. There are enamel chips and rust spots (well highlighted in the photo gallery), particularly on the base of the jug and on the rims. Far from being considered defects that devalue the piece, these natural imperfections attest to the object's real historicity, giving it a wonderful patina of time and an authentic vintage charm. Please carefully view the photo gallery, which is an integral part of the description, to assess the real state of the lot.
