Imago Editore - Il Trionfo dell'Amore (edizione d'arte) - 2020

The Triumph of Love Art Edition Instance number: 40 A meeting between great stories of passion and the art of the illuminated book. The Triumph of Love presents miniatures drawn from Francesco Petrarca’s Trionfi manuscripts, pairing them with a path dedicated to the most famous lovers of the Western tradition. The images carry with them the charm of the Petrarchan figurative tradition, in which Love takes on the power of a force capable of subduing the human being. Details, gestures and compositions invite one to linger on the pages, letting the narrative converse with the beauty of the miniature. Hero and Leander, Pyramus and Thisbe, Medea and Jason, Paolo and Francesca, Cephalus and Procris embody different faces of passion: the desire that defies distance, the fatal misunderstanding, betrayal, the bond that survives in memory, and jealousy that leads to loss. In this selection, the theme of triumph becomes the thread that unites intense and timeless stories. Love reveals its strength even in the fragility of the lovers: their vicissitudes continue to move because they hold desires, conflicts and hopes still recognizable. An work that couples literature and images, of interest to enthusiasts of Petrarch, mythology and the art of the miniature, and for those who love to find in books the memory of great passions.
