Hugo Berten (1894-1959) - European Roller (Coracias garrulus)

A remarkable painting, and furthermore very well painted!, of a so-called Coracias garrulus (European Roller, Scharrelaar) and a crimson-throated bearded bird, both perched on a branch in a somewhat, stylized setting with rocks and cacti.
