Huge and Fine Ammonite 67 cm !! Uncoiled specimen...

A huge one ! This is a nice ammonite I picked up from a collection I bought (estate sale). The collector dug and prepared the specimen himself. Name : Emericiceras emerici Age: Cretaceous, Barremian Findspot: Mejannes, Gard, France Diameter of the heteromorph ammonite : 67 cm, which make it huge for the species. Weight : 62 kg The digging conditions of those ammonites are very difficult , and they are always dug broken. That one has been glued few times and some restoration has been done to the fossil along the breaks. The back side has been stabilized with a resin. The stone has been arranged for acting as a stand. It is a truly very stunning specimen. Due to weight and size, it will be shipped onto a pallet.

Estimation:€2,800
