Houtsnijwerk - Figure - Spaanse Putti - Polychrome wood

Putti, wood-carved angel in a horn of plenty, probably part of an altarpiece, pinewood, 18th century, with original polychromy The figure was restored in 2009 by Aleth Lorne from The Hague. The figure was reasonably yellowed and dark because the old varnish layers were strongly oxidized. There were here and there small lacunae, loose. The surface was dusty and dirty. The polychromy has been retouched here and there. The varnish layers on this piece were preserved. Only the dirt on the surface has been removed. The paint layers have been consolidated. The small white spots (primer) are retouched in a minimalist way. The old retouches have not been removed. In 2010 it was treated for pests as a precaution. There is a certificate of that. The wood carving is free of pests.

Estimation:€3,000
