HÖK (1984) - Michael Jackson Thriller "Golden Series"...

CONCEPT OF THE WORK - Michael Jackson Thriller – Golden Series (Unique work) Michael Jackson stars in this striking piece inspired by Thriller, one of the most emblematic music video clips in music history and an indispensable reference in popular culture, especially during Halloween celebrations. In this piece, HÖK reinterprets the King of Pop in his unmistakable red suit, capturing the strength, movement, and expression that made Thriller a cultural phenomenon that has transcended generations. The figure appears against an intense electric blue background, creating a powerful visual contrast that conveys all the energy and theatrical character of that era. The work belongs to the Golden Series, a HÖK collection dedicated to reinterpreting great cultural icons through an aesthetic that blends Pop Art, street art, and the sophistication of gold. The use of gold paint and ink with metallic finishes generates reflections and nuances that vary with light incidence, adding visual depth and a particularly elegant personality. Gold takes on here a meaning beyond decoration: it symbolizes success, recognition, and the transformation of certain figures into authentic legends of popular culture. Michael Jackson perfectly embodies that idea, as one of the most influential and recognizable artists of all time. The splashes, gestural strokes, and color overlays add movement to the composition, while the contrast between red, blue, and gold reflections reinforces the scene’s intensity. A contemporary reinterpretation of an unforgettable moment in music, that brings together nostalgia, spectacle, and art in a piece with great visual impact, especially evocative during the Halloween season. ──────────────────────── HÖK ARTIST HÖK Artist’s works are part of private collections in more than 20 countries and have been exhibited in art galleries in Spain and Europe.
