A major catalog published in conjunction with the exhibition “Michelangelo: The Draftsman,” held at the Louvre Museum in Paris from May 9 to July 31, 1989. Text by Michael Hirst, translated by Marie-Geneviève de La Coste-Messelière. Extensive illustrations devoted to Michelangelo’s graphic work, with numerous color and black-and-white reproductions, often full-page: anatomical studies, figures, architectural designs, and preparatory compositions. A reference work for the study of the master’s drawings. Complete copy in its slipcase. Some signs of wear, scuffs, and normal soiling on the slipcase and dust jacket; interior appears to be in good condition.
