Promoted by the color theories of the Bauhaus, he developed a groundbreaking abstract oeuvre focused on the harmony of pigments, the refraction of light and the chemistry of colors. His watercolors from the 1930s testify to a poetic exploration in which geometry yields to chromatic vibration and the pure sensitivity of the material.'
