HELLENISTIC DOUBLE-STRAND LAPIS LAZULI AND CARNELIAN BEAD NECKLACE
Ca. 300 - 100 BC. A restrung double-strand necklace composed of carnelian beads of varied barrel-shaped and elongated forms, interspersed with lapis lazuli spacers. A circular stone pendant at the centre is carved with an interlaced spiral motif. Fitted with a modern hook clasp. Size: 220mm x 25mm; Weight: 65g Provenance: From a private London collection; earlier held in an old family collection formed over the period 1960s–2000.
