Toutes les enchères / Tapis, Tapisseries & Textiles / Hand-knotted Antique Chinese Carpet – Art Deco - Carpet - 287 cm - 240 cm
This extraordinary antique Chinese rug is a characterful example of traditional Chinese rug art. The generous, deep blue field is framed by a warm border in brown and red tones and artfully enlivened by finely worked floral motifs, birds, floral branches, and decorative vessels. Particularly appealing is the open design of the field: the individual motifs are deliberately generously distributed and come into their own against the intense dark blue. Pink, turquoise, red, gold, and additional accent colors lend the rug an elegant yet vibrant aura.
