GREAT BRITAIN. Middlesex. Undated (1790s) End of Pain Farthing Token. D&H-1105, W-8920. Copper. MS-65 RB (PCGS). Frosty in finish with a hard and tight texture, both sides of this predominantly orange-brown example exhibit soft blue-gray undertones to medium brown patina. Direct lighting also calls forth brighter mint orange color from the protected areas around many of the design elements - very attractive. Obverse impression a bit tight to lower right with no denticulation at 5 o'clock, reverse similar to bottom/6 o'clock. Otherwise this piece is well struck with razor sharp to full detail for all design elements. Carefully preserved, as well, and worthy of strong bids. Provenance: From the Emerald Coast Collection.
