Gral Glas - Emil Funke - Vase - Glass, Silver - Silver 835 / Height 26 cm

Extraordinary glass vase based on a design by Emil Funke for Gral Glas, a characteristic example of German Mid-Century glass design. The slender, cylindrical form is covered with a distinctive, plastically worked relief texture. Irregular geometric elements divide the entire surface and create a fascinating play of light and depth. Particularly impressive is the intense color of the glass, ranging from bright turquoise and aquamarine to deep dark blue and changing with the incidence of light. A high-quality accent is the base made of 835 silver. The cool silver forms an elegant contrast to the vivid blue of the glass and lends the already unusual vase an especially noble effect. The design by Emil Funke for Gral Glas is documented. Funke's works for Gral are characterized by experimental surface textures and an evident connection of form, color and light. The vase combines this modernist design with the high-quality silver mounting into an extraordinary collector's object.
