Gota - La Scacchiera

This is the zeroth work of a series of chessboards that the artist developed in the study of material art. This painting takes on an even stronger historical and conceptual value within his body of work. The chessboard, by definition, is a repetitive structure; by creating this first exemplar, the artist opened the way to infinite variations on the theme. Here, choosing acrylic plaster and monochrome, he gave space to plasticity and decided that his search would not be based on the illusion of color, but on the truth of light that bounces off the reliefs. Because the Chessboard is a living work that changes depending on the light that hits it!!!
