Glycine Combat SUB – Swiss Automatic Diver – Burgundy Bezel – 42 mm A distinctive example of Glycine’s celebrated Combat SUB collection, combining authentic Swiss watchmaking with the robust character of a professional diver’s watch. Its most striking feature is the attractive configuration of a deep black military-style dial and rotating burgundy bezel. Large Arabic numerals, luminous hour markers and luminous hands provide excellent legibility, while the inner 24-hour scale reinforces its purposeful instrument-watch appearance. The date display is positioned at 3 o’clock. Technical Details Brand: Glycine Model: Combat SUB Reference: GL0078 Origin: Swiss made Movement: Swiss automatic Functions: Hours, minutes, seconds and date Case: Stainless steel Diameter: Approximately 42 mm, excluding crown Bezel: Rotating burgundy diver’s bezel Crystal: Sapphire Dial: Black with Arabic numerals, 24-hour scale and luminous details Crown: Screw-down crown Water-resistance rating: 200 metres / 20 ATM — not tested Bracelet: Original Glycine stainless-steel bracelet with signed folding clasp Maximum wrist size: Approximately 20 cm Condition: Grade B Accessories: Generic presentation box Condition Report The watch is in good pre-owned condition, with scratches and other signs of normal wear visible on the case, bezel, bracelet and clasp. These traces are consistent with regular use and complement the practical character of this diver. The dial remains attractive and clearly legible, while the burgundy bezel gives the watch a particularly distinctive appearance. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they form an essential part of the description. Although the watch carries a 200-metre water-resistance rating and is equipped with a screw-down crown, its water resistance has not been tested. Contact with water should therefore be avoided until the watch has been professionally pressure-tested. Story & Heritage Founded in Switzerland in 1914, Glycine earned recognition for producing reliable mechanical watches designed for professionals and adventurers. The company’s history is closely connected with aviation and military-inspired timepieces, while the Combat SUB line brought that functional philosophy into the world of diving watches. This example captures the spirit of the collection beautifully. Its stainless-steel construction, automatic movement and substantial 42 mm case give it the strength expected from a capable diver, while the unusual burgundy bezel adds warmth and individuality to the classic black dial. Equally suited to everyday wear, travel or a growing collection of Swiss sports watches, this Glycine Combat SUB offers genuine character, dependable mechanical appeal and an attractive configuration that stands apart from more conventional dive watches.
