Toutes les enchères / Autres / Giuseppe Ciavolino (1918 – 2011) - Figure femminili

Giuseppe Ciavolino (1918-2011) - Portrait of Two Women (Early 70s/80s) Splendid oil on canvas painting by the Italian master Giuseppe Ciavolino (Torre del Greco, Naples, 1918 – 2011), signed bottom right. The work presents itself in generally good conservation condition, with a healthy paint layer and colors that retain their original brightness. The painting depicts a refined and enigmatic figurative scene with two female faces with elongated features and large eyes, iconic elements of the artist's poetics, enriched by naturalistic allegorical elements such as grapevines and peaches. The work is historically positioned between the late 70s / 80s, a period of full artistic maturity for the painter. It should be noted that within the well-known family of artists from Torre del Greco, Giuseppe Ciavolino represents the most significant historical and artistic figure, far and away the most valued and sought after on the national and international market compared to the other members of the family nucleus. His works boast a history and a rate of appreciation that are clearly superior. The back of the canvas and the wooden frame is extraordinarily rich in historical details that guarantee its absolute authenticity and legitimate provenance: Hand-signed autograph “Giuseppe Ciavolino” written by the artist on the back of the canvas. Original ink stamp on the frame of the historic “Centro d'Arte Vernillo,” Campanian art gallery of note in the twentieth century. Initials and catalog numbers (“Gev.” / “Giu.” and the number “7”) traced on the back, corresponding to the gallery's exhibition or archive inventory. Its measurements are: Canvas alone: 50 x 70 cm. With frame: 57 x 77 cm. The work is accompanied by a small gilded perimeter frame (originally conceived as a passe-partout). The frame is considered a mere courtesy from the seller and is shipped free of charge together with the painting; therefore, no disputes or claims regarding its condition will be accepted, as it has no commercial value in the lot valuation. Giuseppe Ciavolino was an important Italian sculptor, painter and cameo engraver. Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, he devoted his life to art and teaching, becoming a reference point for coral artistic craftsmanship in Torre del Greco. His pictorial works, characterized by suspended atmospheres and intimate interpretations of the female world, are present in numerous private collections and Italian twentieth-century art exhibitions. The work will be protected with materials such as bubble wrap and others in addition to rigid cardboard, to guarantee maximum protection during transport. Fast shipping via international express courier (DHL, UPS or FedEx) with a tracking code provided immediately after departure. 100% Includes Insurance: The journey is fully covered by insurance for the entire winning value of the auction, providing total protection for the buyer against loss or damage.
