Giovanni Carnovali detto il Piccio (1804-1873) - Paesaggio con figure

Giovanni Carnovali, nicknamed "Il Piccio" (1804-1873), offers with this work entitled Landscape with Figures a fascinating study of his mature painting, datable to the 19th century. The painting captures a pastoral view with strong evocative power, where two figures immersed in a twilight atmosphere move along a natural path, surrounded by vibrant and leafy vegetation. The painterly handling is typical of his poetics: a free, tactile and fluid brushstroke, played with points of light and chromatic nuances that dissolve academic rigor to make room for a purely visual and atmospheric emotion. The work, signed at the bottom left, is executed in oil on a fine mahogany wooden panel that serves as the original support, measuring 30 cm by 16 cm and weighing 184 grams. To best showcase it, the piece is sold together with an elegant wooden pedestal handcrafted to measure, designed specifically to enable a minimalist and refined display.
