Beautiful set of five works by Georges Ohnet (1848-1918), French novelist and playwright who was particularly popular at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. The five volumes belong to the literary series The Battles of Life and feature handsome old bindings, uniform in green half-leather, green boards, spines with raised bands richly decorated with gold floral motifs, title and author pieces, and red fore-edges. Condition: Overall presenting a beautiful decorative appearance. Bindings with signs of wear, light rubbing and small marks on the boards, spines and corners. Red edges showing some rubbing and irregularities. The photographed pages show natural yellowing and some foxing, characteristic of books from this period. Presence of old ownership stamps on the Nemrod & Co. volume. The photographs are an integral part of the description and allow appreciation of the general condition of the works.
