The history of the bubble lamp's manufacturing: 1952: George Nelson's 1947 design is produced by Howard Miller Clock Co. 1979: Howard Miller retires their modern lighting, thus stopping production of the iconic Bubble lamps 1999: Modernica acquires the equipment to manufacture the bubble lamps through a bankruptcy deal; they also successfully registered trademarks for "George Nelson" and "Nelson" lighting. 2012: The George Nelson Foundation is formed to protect the designer's legacy and sues Modernica and the licensing rights were transferred to Herman Miller, who produces the lamps today. Good estate condition, some dust.
