Beautiful antique handmade 900 silver Art Deco brooch, crafted by the renowned, respected German master gold- and silversmith Georg Pietsch (1893-1963) from Hamm (Westphalia). Although the floral motif has influences of Art Nouveau, the clean, slightly curved elongated form points to the early Art Deco period (1930-1935). Works by his hand are included in the collection of the Gustav-Lubcke-Museum Hamm. Very exceptional piece! At the back the following inscription: “Handarbeit Georg Pietsch Hamm(Westf.)” - silver mark “900” and master mark GP. C-clasp with long needle. Length of the brooch is 7.0 cm Width is 2.0 cm. Weight is 14.10 grams. After decades of careful collecting I have decided to part with (part of) my collection. I wish these special objects a place with a new enthusiast who understands the value of historical preservation. It is time that these pieces receive the attention they deserve, so that they are preserved for the distant future. I ensure extremely careful packaging and insured shipping.
