Old watchmaker’s pivot lathe in brass and steel, signed Garnache Frères with GF proof mark. Garnache Frères was a French company specialized in tooling for watchmaking, notably pivot lathes and precision instruments. This type of device was used by watchmakers to hold, work on, and finish pivots and small movement parts with precision. The instrument features several adjustment screws and centering tips. Beautiful antique patina with visible signs of use and oxidation. Made in France, probably late 19th – early 20th century, around 1880–1910. A fine collectible item tied to the history of watchmaking and precision mechanics.
