Richly blind-tooled contemporary pigskin binding over wooden boards with 2 brass clasps (somewhat stained and rubbed, leather covering torn in places or with small losses). VD 16 G128; Adams G 36; Wellcome 2514.- The first two volumes from the complete works of the ancient physician Claudius Galenus of Pergamon, in the expanded edition and translation by Janus Cornarius and with the commentaries by Conrad Gessner.- Inner hinges cracked, endpapers missing, first and last leaves slightly damp-edged and with small marginal lesions, small inscription from 1596 on the pastedown.
