Toutes les enchères / Cartes Postales & Philatélie / French Southern and Antarctic Lands 1971/1992...
An extraordinary and highly specialized philatelic collection comprising 61 polar mail covers and envelopes (1961–1988) dedicated to the French Southern and Antarctic Lands (TAAF) and polar research expeditions. This comprehensive lot is a fantastic opportunity for collectors of Polar history, maritime mail (Paquebot), and thematic philately. Key Highlights & Regional Variety: Full Territorial Representation: The collection outstandingly covers all four historical regions of the TAAF: Adélie Land (Terre Adélie), Kerguelen Islands (Archipel des Kerguelen) , Crozet Islands (Îles Crozet) , Saint Paul and Amsterdam Islands (Îles Saint-Paul et Nouvelle-Amsterdam) Rich Postal Markings: Abundant with clear postmarks, official base cachets, geographical coordinates (including Martin-de-Viviés / Amsterdam Island), expedition stamps, and maritime "Paquebot" cancellations documenting transit at sea. Popular Thematic Motifs Included: - Aviation & Transport: Several covers featuring polar logistics, including Air Mail (Par Avion) cachets, airplanes, and helicopters used for sub-antarctic transport - Maritime & Icebreakers: Numerous covers depicting polar research vessels and scientific exploration ships that navigated the Southern Ocean. - Fauna: Beautiful thematic stamps showing sub-antarctic wildlife, including penguins, seals, and native marine species. - Special Highlight - Rare Mixed Franking Cover: A remarkable standout piece in this lot features an unusual and highly interesting mixed franking from the Cold War era, combining Soviet Union (CCCP) and East Germany (DDR) stamps. This specific cover documents the international scientific cooperation and joint logistics between Soviet and East German researchers during their Antarctic expeditions, making it a prized item for postal history enthusiasts. I don't combine shippings Following a recent change in international sector regulations, specifically Articles 18 and 19 of the Universal Postal Convention, starting from January 1, 2026, it will no longer be possible to send items (goods with or without commercial value) using International Registered and International Insured services, which will continue to be used exclusively for sending documents. It means that starting from January 1st, 2026, I will ship abroad only by "POSTE DELIVERY INTERNATIONAL STANDARD" starting from 25,80€ without insurance
